High Speed Fiber Backbone.
Our fibre optics backbone network spans over 300 km across the island, with a harmonized low latency transport network built on a solid and resilient electrical grid infrastructure. Our network utilizes state of the art transmission equipment using DWDM and MPLS-TP
The company has embraced sustainable infrastructure usage by leveraging on the Central Electricity Board’s existing OPGW (optical ground wire) overhead cable network, to promote the deployment of ultra-high speed broadband services in the country.
Why OPGW (Optical Fiber Ground Wire)?
- Optical Fiber Ground Wire or OPGW connects CEB’s substations over secured transmission towers
- Can reach to areas which were inaccessible due to lack of infrastructure
- Faster and safer transmission of voice and data.
